Augustana College charter and constitutions

Abstract

Augustana College was founded by Swedish Lutherans in Chicago as Augustana Theological Seminary in 1860. The Augustana College charter and constitutions contains 1869 charter as well as several stages of the constitution.

Abstract

Erland Levi Borg was an Augustana alumnus and Lutheran minister. The Erland Levi Borg papers, 1926-1993 and undated, contains articles, pamphlets, receipts, music uniforms, and paraphernalia regarding the Augustana Concert Band European Tour of 1928 and other campus organizations. There is also biographical information regarding Borg's life after Augustana and photographs of Band Tour Reunions. Materials have been arranged into series according to accession date.

Abstract John Henry Hauberg was a businessman, philanthropist, civic organizer, researcher, and photographer active in Rock Island and the Quad Cities area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Hauberg and his wife, Susanne Denkmann Hauberg, were very active in the Quad Cities community, serving on many advisory boards and organizing dozens of philanthropic initiatives. Abstract Harriet Rachel Wheeler was born on 23 June 1903 in Davenport, Iowa. She attended Cornell College before enrolling at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois in September 1924. Wheeler was a member of the Woman's Club, and was often on the honor roll. She graduated in 1927 with an A.B. in History.
